Thank you all for being here to celebrate such a special milestone. Today marks three years since one of the happiest days of my life. June 23rd, 2022. The day my sister Gwen received her kidney. I remember that day so clearly. I was driving when I got the call, and the moment I heard the news, I burst into tears. tears of joy. After all the waiting, all the prayers, and all the hope, that long-awaited day had finally come.
The journey that followed wasn’t easy. The weeks and months after the transplant were filled with challenges. There were lab visits, doctor appointments, medication schedules, and major lifestyle adjustments. But we faced it all together. With my sister Debbie by my side, we became Gwen’s care team. We cooked, we cleaned, we organized her medications, and most importantly, we were there caring for Twana and surrounding Gwen with love and support.
It took strength, patience, and faith but Gwen, you never gave up. You kept going, one day at a time. And today, we celebrate not just the gift of life, but your fight, your resilience, and your loving spirit. Congratulations, Gwen, on being three years strong! We love you, we are so proud of you, and we are deeply grateful to be standing here with you today. Here’s to health, happiness, and many more milestones ahead.
